Week 04: Destruction Week 03
Troubleshooting RBD simulations and fully understanding what was happening under the hood was a complex yet fascinating process. With each project, I gained deeper insights into handling attributes, particularly in terms of transferring and customizing them to fine-tune every aspect of the simulation and achieve my intended results.
GroundRBD Troubleshooting
After extensive research, I learned that handling two collisions impacting the ground geometry at different locations and times requires a more precise approach than using a single continuous collider, as I did in my previous project. Attributes such as active and velocity must be properly initialized and transferred to ensure the simulation runs correctly. Additionally, selecting the right solver settings is crucial for achieving the desired results.
Testing velocity blur in the test render every week is my favorite part since I can ensure my simulation carry the correct attribute it need to appear polished in the render.
My plan for next week is to implement additional elements such as debris, small particles, and dust, as well as refine the velocity and adjust certain pieces to finalize the ground RBD simulation.
Improve Fracturing Pattern
The feedback I received last week from the critique session was that I need to emphasize the impact area more to vividly convey the energy of the impact.
